Stewarding at this year’s Show

It is that time of year again when I make my appeal for Stewards for the National Garden Railway Show to be held on Saturday 7th April.

I am looking at a complete battalion of helpers for this show this year. As in previous years, I am offering a whole spectrum of exciting jobs to suit all tastes and abilities involving Sitting-down, Standing-up and Walking-around. We need the usual team of hard working Stewards on both days to help set-up and take-down. We also need on the day, Ticket sellers and checkers, Information stand staff, Bus conductors, Draw ticket sellers, Association clothing sellers, Floor marshals, Assistants for MOTY and the Landmarks exhibit, as well as some which escape me at the moment.

This is your show and could not take place without the valuable help from the army of volunteers. So please let me know whilst the idea is still fresh in your minds, what job you would like to do, when you would be available and for the length of time you would like to spend (usually as 2 hour slots, but this is not rigid). In 2018, we will be offering our volunteers, in addition to free entry,  a token of our gratitude in the form of  vouchers for drinks or food depending on the extent of your help.  As an additional ‘perk’, you may even get to see the show before it officially opens.

My thanks to those who have already volunteered but there are still plenty of jobs still available.

So, just let me know on stewarding@16mm.org.uk
