Michael Foster is a new Exhibitor at the 16mm National Garden Railway Show. Well known as the author of the history of Hornby Dublo Trains, published in 1980 it went on to sell 54,000 copies. He has recently completed a Series of five books on the history of “British Toy Trains”, the first ever full review of all those magical companies who manufactured primarily cheaper tinplate ‘0’ gauge trains from 1915 to 1972 , sold through such outlets as Woolworths and the like. These books have been so enthusiastically received they have practically sold out and he will have the last few copies available.

In 1985 he introduced his ‘0’ gauge replica track system of the old Hornby Solid Steel track, developing it further with solid section Code 200 Nickel Silver rail and individual ABS plastic sleepers. Precision made to run just about everything ‘0’ gauge indoors and in the garden. Some of his garden layouts are still giving immense pleasure 20 years after being laid down. Now produced by Maldon Rail, we have supplied over 25 linear miles of track to enthusiasts all over the world.

Finally, as an Ambassador of ETS Trains of Prague, he introduced them to the UK market many years ago. He has now supplied over 500 chassis units involving a wide variety of 0-4-0 and 0-6-0 chassis units with Standard 2-rail wheels or HF (High Flange) for the older tinplate tracks. Wheel diameters range from 20mm, 25mm, 29mm, 33mm, 36mm, 40mm and 44mm diameter, Spoked or Disc in the smaller sizes  Various axle centres are available and they can be 2-rail, 3-rail or Battery powered. The adaptability is vast so come and discuss your specific requirements, please.
