Hopfields was built in 2004 for use as indoor track for winter meets and this is still its main use. However it does get invited to shows across Kent, Essex and Surrey so scenic items and ballast have been added, our signature building being the Kentish Oast House.

As originally designed by the late Steve Tompson it had two independent 32mm circuits both with run round loops. Since then more boards have been added, this gives us flexibility of size to suit the venue. At its largest it does allow members to run long slate trains. The inner circuit has been converted to 32/45 mm dual gauge, crossover points between the two circuits have been fitted and a metal steaming bay added, especially useful for coal and meths fired locos.
