Juniors (members and non-members) – help run a layout
Would you like to help operate one of the layouts at the show?
You can bring your own locomotive (gas-fired or battery-electric, 32mm gauge) and borrow some trucks or carriages to run with your loco. Or you can borrow one of our radio-controlled battery electric locomotives and some trucks or carriages. You will be operating the layout called Dixon Green and Saed-y-Parc, one of the largest layouts at the show (see page 12 of this guide). If you wish, you can also have a go at operating our working mine, either hauling the loaded skips out of the mine or shunting the mineral wagons once they have been loaded.
If you are running on the junior layout, this must be under the supervision of an adult family member – Please Note – we are not a crèche! You can use your own locomotive only if you are a junior member or if the loco is owned by someone who is a member of the 16mm Association on the day of the show, and is being used with their consent.
You can book a running slot before the show by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org Please explain what loco you are bringing, the time of your preferred running slot and the name of the adult who will be supervising you. Or you can come along to the layout on the day of the show and speak with one of the layout stewards and we’ll try to find something for you to run.
