32mm gauge, Andrew Neal.

I built this layout to fit in my small railway room, hence the size only 3m x3m, but it is surprising how much detail and track can be modelled even with such limited board space. There is also an operating area in the centre of the layout. The running boards are eight in number, built of 9mm ply, strengthened with 2 x 1 timber, and another board which forms a scenic break. Scenery has been added to 70% of the boards mainly using Woodland Scenics scatter and foliage.

Small live steam and battery powered locos are mainly used as larger ones can struggle to negotiate the relatively tight curves. All the buildings except the signal box were scratchbuilt as is much of the rolling stock. The people on the layout have been gradually collected over many years mainly from abroad.
